Overview

Nest Run is an asymmetric multiplayer game where Shooters escort a rail cart along a winding track to an alien nest, while a Commander spawns alien bugs and deploys traps to stop them.

Shooter Win Condition

Push the cart all the way to the nest before time runs out.

Commander Win Condition

Run out the 10-minute clock before the cart reaches the nest.

Game Modes

PvP — Shooters vs Commander

1–4 Shooters face off against 1 Commander. The Commander spawns bugs, places walls, and activates traps using biomass. A 10-minute timer counts down — if the cart hasn't reached the nest when time expires, the Commander wins.

Players1–4 Shooters + 1 Commander
Time Limit10:00
Starting Biomass100 × shooter count

Co-op

2–4 Shooters work together with no human Commander. An AI Commander spawns walls on the track and activates egg sac traps as the cart progresses. Enemy bugs spawn automatically with scaling difficulty.

Solo

Single player mode. Same as Co-op but you're on your own. Bug difficulty scales with deaths and cart progress.

Shooter Guide

The Cart

Stay close to the cart to push it forward along the track. If you die or move away, the cart slows down. Walls placed on the track block the cart — destroy them to keep moving.

Weapons

SMG — Primary

Full-auto rifle with a laser sight. Your bread and butter for clearing bugs.

Damage36 per shot
Headshot56 (1.55×)
Fire Rate11.2 rounds/sec
Range280 units

Force Gun — Secondary (unlocked at 25% progress)

A short-range push cannon that knocks enemies back. Unlocked at the checkpoint marker on the track. Press Q or Y to swap weapons.

Fire Rate1.5 shots/sec

Health & Respawning

You have 200 HP. When killed, you respawn at the start after a 3-second delay. Each death makes enemy bugs slightly stronger and faster, so try to stay alive.

Spawn Safe Zone

The area around the spawn point is a safe zone — enemies can't damage you there. Use it to regroup after a death.

Traps

Egg sacs near the track can be activated as traps. When you walk into an active trap's radius, you'll be yanked toward the egg sac and held for 5 seconds, taking 100 damage total. Your weapons are disabled while trapped.

You can shoot egg sacs to destroy them before they catch you (200 HP, about 6 SMG shots). In co-op, teammates can also shoot the egg sac to free you.

Commander Guide

As Commander, you have a top-down view of the entire map. You spend biomass to spawn bugs, place walls, and activate traps to prevent the cart from reaching the nest.

Biomass

Your resource for everything. It regenerates over time and scales with the number of shooters for fairness.

Starting100 × shooter count
Max200 × shooter count
Regen8/sec × shooter count
Checkpoint Bonus+100 × shooter count at 25%

Spawning Bugs

Left-click anywhere on the map to spawn an active bug that immediately chases the nearest player. Right-click to spawn a dormant bug that stands still until a shooter gets within 15 units or you click to wake it manually. Great for ambushes.
